Biography

Javier Fernando Valdés Garrido Lecca (Lima, June 10, 1959) is a leading Peruvian actor and theater director. From a very young age he showed his artistic vocation, having Adolfo Chuiman as his acting teacher during his school days, and then Gustavo Bueno. He studied at the Santa Margarita School. Even as a teenager he made his first appearance on television (in a character as the son of the artist Mabel Duclós), in the television program called Teatro de Pepe Vilar. Later he would travel to Spain to continue his artistic training. He made his debut in soap operas in Solo por ti, after rejecting a co-starring role in Bajo tu Piel. In 2007, he participated in the Hispanic Demonstration in New York. Valdés is known for his participation in several soap operas such as Canela or Luz María. He has been dedicated to acting for many years and, part of his knowledge was acquired in Spain where he studied Interpretation at the Cristina Rota School in Madrid. He also teaches several acting workshops.
