Overview
The story of the Shalimov family: Yuri, a prominent businessman and government official; his wife, Lyudmila; their son, Dmitry; and their daughter, Tatiana. Years ago, Dmitry’s parents prevented him from marrying Yulia, a girl from the provinces, because they had chosen Olga Gladysheva, the daughter of their friends and business partners, to be his wife. This decision went on to turn the Shalimovs’ entire lives upside down.
