Overview

After an accident leaves his daughter in a coma, Francisco, a seasoned journalist, tries to rebuild his life by accepting a seemingly minor assignment: uncovering the origins of the ancient mural of the Black Christ, venerated by millions. His search leads him to Santiago, who reveals the untold story of the image's mysterious creator: a young man enslaved in 17th-century Peru, known only as "The Painter." Amid discrimination and suffering, the young man transforms his pain into an extraordinary work: a Black Christ that, over the centuries, would become the most important symbol of faith in our nation and one of the most venerated in the world.
