José Carlos Burle was a Brazilian film director, screenwriter, and composer. He was instrumental in the early development of Brazilian cinema, co-founding the Atlântida Cinematográfica in 1941, which became a pivotal studio in the country's film industry. Burle directed and wrote several influential films, including É com Este Que Eu Vou (1948) and Depois Eu Conto (1956). Additionally, he composed popular songs such as "Cabocla" and "Meu Limão, Meu Limoeiro," which have been recorded by various artists. Burle's multifaceted contributions have left a lasting legacy in Brazilian culture.
