Jan Józef Szczepański (born January 12, 1919 – February 20, 2003) was a Polish writer, reporter, essayist, screenwriter, and translator, Tatra mountaineer, and traveler. He was president of the Polish Writers' Union and the Polish Writers' Association. He was an Orientalist by training.
